\nHasina today sought cooperation from all including lawmakers, public
\nrepresentatives and noted personalities irrespective of parties and
\nopinions to work in unison to stamp-out irregularities, injustices and
\ncorruption from the society for continuation of the development.<\/p>\n

\u201cI seek cooperation from all including from the lawmakers, public
\nrepresentatives irrespective of parties and opinions to work together to
\nput an end to the social irregularities including corruption,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The premier said these in the parliament while replying to a
\nsupplementary question from Jatiya Party lawmaker Begum Rawshan Ara
\nMannan (women seat-47) in the question-answer session slated for her.
\nSheikh Hasina, also Leader of the House and Awami League President,
\nhas sounded a note of warning of taking stern action against those who
\nwould be found involved in committing corruptions and crimes
\nirrespective of their political affiliation lead to creating irregularities and
\ninjustices in the society.<\/p>\n

Sheikh Hasina said, \u201cIf anyone of my party is involved in crimes, I will not
\nspare him or her. I\u2019m currently not sparing any of them and will continue it in
\nthe days to come. Punishment should begin from own home which I have
\nalready initiated. \u201d<\/p>\n

None will be spared in case of committing crimes, the PM warned, saying that
\naction has even been taken against members from the law enforcement agencies
\nin this regard.<\/p>\n

The prime minister also called upon the lawmakers and local public
\nrepresentatives to form committee in each of the areas involving noted
\npersonalities from the society, teachers, and guardians to ward off any sorts of
\nirregularities and injustice in the society.<\/p>\n

She thanked the female lawmaker for putting forward the question whether the
\ngovernment has any plan to form committee in each of the areas to take action
\nagainst those who are hatching conspiracy to make a halt the ongoing
\ndevelopment of the country and to stop social crimes such as corruption,
\ntorture on women and children.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are getting enough honour from foreign countries due to the huge socio-
\neconomic development of the country and for continuation of the admiration,
\nwe should eliminate injustice from the society,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

About the government\u2019s \u2018zero tolerance policy\u2019 against corruption, the premier
\nsaid, \u201cWe will not commit corruption and wouldn\u2019t allow others in doing so.\u201d<\/p>\n

Terming both bribe taker and bribe giver criminals, she said both should bring
\nto book, adding, \u201cWe will also take action against the instigators and patrons
\nof the criminals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Replying to the starred question no-1 from the Jatiya Party lawmaker Begum
\nRawshan Ara Mannan, the premier also said, \u201cOur government is committed
\nto establish an administrative framework based on the rule of law to ensure
\nsocio-economic development and public welfare and to form welfare state as
\nwell.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spelling out her government\u2019s initiative to pursue the \u2018zero tolerance policy\u2019
\nagainst corruption, she said, \u201cWe have a special plan to reduce corruption to
\nzero level by strengthening the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and public
\nawareness campaign, and also using the modern information technology.\u201d<\/p>\n

The premier said the corruption rate has been reduced due to the anti-graft
\ndrives and huge awareness campaign against the corruption conducted by the
\nenforcement teams of the ACC.<\/p>\n

Recommendations to stop corruption and formulation of work plan prepared
\nby the ACC will also contribute to curb corruption in different departments
\nand divisions of the ministries to stop corruption in the concerned
\norganizations, she opined.<\/p>\n

Highlighting her government\u2019s initiatives to make the ACC activities more
\ndynamic, the premier said, \u201cWe have increased divisional offices to eight from
\nsix and coordinated district offices to 36 from 22 and increased it manpower to
\n2146 from 1274.\u201d<\/p>\n

A three-year plan titled \u201cStrengthening the Anti-Corruption Commission\u201d has
\nalready been adopted with taking measures including setting up IT Support
\nService System and ACC\u2019s own digital forensic lab and IPTV, she said.<\/p>\n

Once the plan is implemented the accountability and transparency of the ACC
\nofficials and employees will be increased, she added.<\/p>\n

The premier said there is no need to form separate organization to stop
